Kaka was born in Brasilia, Brazil on April 22, 1982, he was the son of Simone Cristina do Santos Leite and Bosco Izecson Pereira Leite. Kaka has a younger brother, rodrigo, known as Diago, who followed him playing foorball in Italy.
Nickname Kaka, taken from the original language, Portuguese,which is spoken such as spelling, with an emphasis on the second syllable marked with an accent. It is usually used to abbreviate the name of "Ricardo" in Brazil, however, Kaka get his nickname from his brother, Rodrigo, who could not pronounce the word "Ricardo" when they were little. In September 2000, at the age of 18, Kaka suffered threats on his career and the possibility of vertebral fractures that cause paralysis as a result of a swimming pool accident.
